Stock Work
Refinishing
We strip, restain and revarnish stocks. We apply old fashioned rubbed oil finishes as well as the latest urethanes.
Checkering
We put those patches of little diamonds where they go.
Glass Bedding
The process of filling the voids between the wood and the metal of the action with fiberglass filled epoxy is called glass bedding. It reinforces old weak stocks, it stabilizes flexible ones and makes sure the action sits tightly and doesn’t shift. A shifting stock will compromise accuracy.
Pillar Bedding
This is a combination of glass bedding and incorporating aluminum pillars in the wood or plastic to set the action on and hold it against its mounting screws. Better accuracy.
Install Recoil Pads
The old ones get hard and dried out. The new ones feel soft and cuddly. We like that.
Install Adjustable Recoil Management Systems
The ultimate in being able to shoot all day and still feel soft and cuddly.
Install sling swivels.
The ultimate in being able to shoot all day and still feel soft and cuddly.
Inletting a stock
Matching a new, semi-finished stock to perfectly fit the action to sit in it.
Fiberglass filled epoxy bedding compound fills the gaps between wood and steel, stabilizes, accurizes and strengthens older stocks.
